Delete titles from “My List”

An easy pop-up window that allows users to decide if they prefer to delete a title from “My List” after the full-length has been watched.

Problem

There is a problem that I face every time I watch movies (or series) on Netflix. After completion of the full-length title, the platform keeps suggesting it in “My List” as if it is something new to watch. How many of you have noticed this? I am sure the answer is positive by most of you and that you have had classified this as an issue that you would love to see solved.

Solution

A simple yet effective way to solve this flagged issue is a pop-up message window at the end of the movie. This would give users the option to remove the title from “My List”. In order to make it even more efficient and seamless the user will be able to tick the box that gives Netflix permission to automatically delete titles from “My List” after the full-length has been watched (this option can also be accessed and reversed through settings).

Extra

If findings prove that users would still like to be able to see titles that they have priorly saved and watched, a sub-category of “My List” could be created with all the watched titles. Furthermore, a share button for the “Watched Titles” list could be implemented so that users can smoothly recommend all their most-loved movies and series with friends.

Conclusion

Finally, users will not have to sort between titles that they have watched and titles that they wish to watch in their list. This will definitely improve usability and selection experience. User’s will no longer have to play memory games in order to choose a new title to watch from “My List”.
